National Make a Will Month?

Posted by Matthew Myers | Sep 25, 2012 | 0 Comments

These days marketing professionals have found a way to consistently bombard us with messaging. LegalZoom has been heralding “National Make a Will Month” for the last three months…August is the actual month that they claim. For fun, I “googled” National Make a Will Month and found several other months that folks claim for that moniker as well. Go figure!

In short, just like Al Gore says that “everyday is Earth Day,” I feel the same way about someone making a will. Don't put some kind of arbitrary timeframe on your need to make a will-“Just Do It!” Put yourself and your family in the driver's seat with regards to your estate plan–don't let the government make the decisions on your behalf. Although most of us don't want to think about their testamentary intent, I am confident that you will feel much better about things once you have generated your estate plan.

And by the way, an estate plan is more than just a will. Give me a call and we can talk.

Sincerely,

Matthew
